"I was trying to install Ubuntu Linux, just to try it out. I tried to set up dual boot with Windows, but I messed up something with the whole partitioning process and I couldn’t' access my Windows drive. I'm not sure what happened, but I think I might have literally overwritten the C drive with my Ubuntu installation, so obviously I panicked since i had some pretty important stuff stored on it. I called up Oakland Data Services and they helped me make it readable again. Then they actually went ahead and showed me where I went wrong with the installation and they helped me install Ubuntu right on the spot! Now That's customer service! Thanks Oakland Data Recovery!"

"To be honest, I wasn' t really expecting that Oakland Data Services would be able to get the data on my external hard drive back. I dropped it from the second floor onto a pretty hard surface, and the drive split into three big parts and a bunch of smaller ones, and all the internal parts were exposed. Well, I took it to Oakland Data Services, and they looked at it and told me to my surprise that the data was intact and the could use special equipment to copy it over to a new drive. I now have my data back! I thought that was pretty amazing... great job, Oakland Data Services!"

"The most helpful advice I was able to receive was to "reformat and move on". I got a hold of the supervisor who essentially told me the same thing, that the information was lost -- lost forever and ever, and there was absolutely nothing that I nor anyone could ever do about it. Now, I'm very persistent, if even naively stubborn, and I refused to take "no" for an answer. I spent days on online forums and searched the web inside and out for any advice.
